Text

Wohnhuus Bärenmoos, Stiftung Wohnraum für jüngere Behinderte in Oberrieden, offers specialized assisted living to young adults with brain injuries.

Goal

The organization aims to give the residents as much control of their life as possible. It specializes in enabling young brain-injured adults to relearn skills necessary to cope with daily life.

Finance

The Rotary Club Zurich Belvoir International supports the "Bärenmoos" with financial donations on a regular basis.

General

More importantly we support Bärenmoos with hands-on assignments like working at the "Bärenmoos-Beiz", a quarterly event where all residents can invite their family and friends for a themed dinner. We support the kitchen staff, by serving the food and helping with the cleaning up.

Reports

In addition to supporting the staff working for "Bärenmoos", it is also a bonding experience for our members and its residents and helps increase our understanding for what it means to be handicapped or being a caretaker of a loved one that is going through a rehabilitation process. Furthermore, our members take on individual assignments offering help with administration of bills and correspondence or accompanying a resident to the shops or on a walk.
