Rotary Club Zurich Belvoir International supports the St. Jude India Child Care Centres in Mumbai, India. After careful consideration and club consensus we began our International Service Project in the fall of 2011.
Goal
The non-profit-organization aims to provide holistic care for children who visit Mumbai to undergo treatment for chronic diseases (e.g. cancer) and their accompanying parents. The Centres chose St. Jude for their name as he was the patron of desperate causes. Admission will be granted to any needy child regardless of religion or community.

Finance
Our first donation of CHF 10'000 was wired to the St. Jude's Centres in India, just before Christmas. Our success was ensured thanks to the engagement of our members, donated workspace and materials sponsored by members and friends of Rotary (see below).
General
Thanks to our creative and engaged members and their partners, families and friends, we succeeded in transforming 210 kg of tree branches, 500 candles and a variety of colorful decoration material into 125 beautiful advent wreaths, which were sold and generated CHF 10’000.
Reports
Our first fundraising event for the St. Jude's Centres was a great show of solidarity and teamwork. It was not only a great hands-on activity but also an event of fellowship and fun.
